My 7 top tips for expecting mamas

(An excerpt from my journal at 3 months pregnant)

For expecting mamas 👇

Some things I’ve learned so far about pregnancy…

  • Figure out what you need, and either give it to yourself or ask for support. Getting your basic needs met is the first step to feeling like a sane human again.

  • Eat (if you can) and as much as you can. Ditch the sugar to keep your blood levels stable - that’s the least we can do for our fluctuating hormones. High protein and high fat diet. High fat Greek yogurt became my best companion.

  • Ditch the caffeine. Rest as much as you can. Low screen time. Read. Nervous system stabilization is your priority now.

  • “Peace is my priority” let this be your new mantra. If it’s taking away your peace, it’s not worth it.  Your baby and your peace is all that matters now, don’t forget it.

  • Someone gave me the advice that pregnant women can get away with anything, so take advantage. A pregnant woman is never late, she’s never rushed, she can wear whatever she wants whenever she wants, she can say no with no guilt. Prioritize yourself and your peace. Your baby needs it.

  • Love yourself through all of your feelings and emotions - and never feel guilty about it. Especially WHEN (not if) you feel like a psychopath or a crazy woman. You experiencing the full spectrum of emotions, is THE exact reason you are able to give birth.  You’re experiencing the full feminine spectrum. It’s what makes you powerful, babe.

  • Feeling is your superpower. Your intuition is sharper, your sensitivity is spidey like. Not everyone can feel like this, and it’s a gift. Cry as much as you can, laugh & enjoy the pleasure of gratitude at an all time high right now. You’re experiencing a miracle at play - every day now, for the rest of your life. And you can feel it in every cell of your being if you listen.
